Dear Sisters,
We are excited to meet together with you at our upcoming Stake Women’s Conference on Thursday, September 9, 2021. This conference will be an opportunity for us to come together and enjoy an evening of beautiful music, inspired messages particularly from our Stake President, and serve together as we assemble ‘Fresh Start Kits’ for the Davis County Jail. This annual Women’s Conference is a special opportunity for President Wilkes to speak directly to the women in our Stake. We know his inspired message, specifically for you, will help strengthen and bless your life.
The theme for this conference, “Faith in Him Will Move Mountains” comes from President Russell M. Nelson’s most recent conference talk, “Christ Is Risen; Faith in Him Will Move Mountains.” https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2021/04/49nelson?lang=eng . We hope you have had an opportunity to study his message and set some personal goals in the five areas he suggests to help us develop and increase our faith and trust in our Savior Jesus Christ. We encourage you to reflect on how his message has helped you and invite you to share how your efforts to increase your faith are blessing your life. We would also love to hear what part of his message stood out to you and why. We read in Luke 22:31-32, “And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: but I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” We know that our testimonies and faith grow by acknowledging the blessings, even miracles, that come from the Lord in our efforts to increase our faith and that our shared experiences can strengthen and lift each other. Please accept our invitation to share your thoughts and experiences by emailing them to jewal.caldwell@gmail.com by next Sunday, September 5th.
As a Stake RS presidency, we express our love to you and our testimony that we are led by a prophet of God. President Nelson said, “Faith in Jesus Christ is the greatest power available to us in this life. All things are possible to them that believe. Your growing faith in Him will move mountains—not the mountains of rock that beautify the earth but the mountains of misery in your lives. Your flourishing faith will help you turn challenges into unparalleled growth and opportunity.” This is our hope for each sister in our Stake. We pray that our Women’s Conference will help in our ongoing efforts to increase our faith. We need each other. We look forward to seeing you on September 9th and hope you will invite your family, neighbors, and friends to join us.
With love,
Jewal Caldwell, Rachel Jensen, Cheryle Mounteer & Natalie Brush
“I (President Wilkes) would like to invite each of the sisters in our stake to attend the upcoming stake relief society’s meeting. This is the one opportunity I have to speak directly to the sisters of our stake. I have felt impressed to share specific counsel with you at this meeting. I acknowledge you have many demands on your time, but I would ask that you please arrange your schedule to be in attendance if possible.”
President Wilkes
Dear Sisters,
We would like to invite you to join us for the Farmington Utah Stake Women’s Conference on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. It will be an evening of uplifting messages, beautiful music, service, and socializing. We know this letter is an early announcement of that evening, but we also have a prophetic challenge that we invite you to participate in.
In the recent April General Conference, President Russell M. Nelson issued a call to each of us to start today to increase our faith in Jesus Christ. He promised that through our faith, Jesus Christ will increase our ability to move the mountains in our lives—not the mountains of rock that beautify the earth but the mountains of misery in our lives. Our mountains will vary, and yet the answer to each of our challenges is to increase our faith. The mountains in our lives do not always move how or when we would like, but our faith will always propel us forward. Faith always increases our access to godly power. Faith in Jesus Christ is the greatest power available to us in this life. We invite you to study his message, https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2021/04/49nelson?lang=eng. President Nelson offered five suggestions to help us develop that faith and trust.
We hope that you will take the opportunity to set a goal in each of the five areas to work on between now and September 9th. We want to hear about how this effort helps you, as we know it will. We have started a private Facebook event page with a discussion that is associated with our meeting. This is an opportunity to share your experience with this challenge from the prophet, and read and comment on others’ experiences, by answering the question: How has your faith increased to move the mountains of challenge or misery in your life?
In addition, we will be preparing to participate in a service project the evening of our meeting. We will be putting together “Fresh Start Kits” for the Davis County Jail for inmates being released. We have set up an online sign up sheet to collect the requested items. The link to the SignUp Genius is https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A0F4BA4A623AAF58-farmington. Your ward Relief Society presidency will be facilitating the collection of the items prior to the event. This service project is an opportunity to serve those in our community who may be starting down a new path and need a fresh start. Please reach out if you have any questions.
President Nelson reminded us that, “Everything good in life–every potential blessing of eternal significance–begins with faith. Allowing God to prevail in our lives begins with faith that He is willing to guide us.” As a Stake Relief Society presidency we want to express our love to you and our gratitude for our loving Savior who desires to help, guide and bless each of us.
With love,
